Re: The Agony of Caunter

I like it! I have to do a bunch of caunter schemes, I've been trying to decide if I'll brush or airbrush.

Re: PSC M3 Honey (15mm)

It looks great! I agree, the caunter would be hard to mask out on such a small bumpy creature. I once hand painted a caunter scheme on a 1/76 JB Vickers Mk. VI and it didn't look too bad. All the details and angles disguise the fact that the lines aren't perfectly straight. I still think I had to dr...

Re: Sherman NWE SCC Numbers

SCC15 was implemented in April, not August. I think the majority of vehicles would be that colour. Many US lend lease vehicles would retain their OD paint unless they were greatly modified. SSC2 would appear on some British vehicles, however. I've looked into the painting of Canadian tanks quite ext...

Re: PSC Valentine Mk.III (15mm)

Nice work. I don't think the weathering is overbearing. My personal criteria is that a paint job makes the vehicle stand out, look great and is appropriate to its environment. I think you've done all those things. I have an entire book on war-game painting where the paint jobs start off looking grea...

Re: Paint a Kangaroo on an Italian

You make it seem sooooo easy. If I try free hand I'm quite sure I will not get something that even resembles that shape     But it is a great idea thmbs2) Draw the main shapes in first with a mechanical pencil, then fill in with light grey. Go over with white when the light ...

Re: Early Blitzkrieg panzers.

Those are a nice trio of Panzer II's. The grey/brown scheme looks really good with the white crosses.

Re: 9 RTR CHURCHILLS

One thing I was not sure about was doing the AVRE crew with black berets. I should have ducked the issue and done RAC helmets. I tried painting them khaki but it didn't look impressive. I suspect that anyone in an armoured vehicle who could find an excuse to adopt a black beret did so, but I don't ...

Re: 9 RTR CHURCHILLS

Nice Churchills, especially including the 6 pounder armed variant, I like the attention to detail. I think the AVRE had plenty of tactical value in built-up areas. One round of a "Dustbin" could level a building. I remember reading somewhere where it was described as a British version of the Sturmpa...
