Re: The Tip: Oosterbeek 20.9.44

Lovely as always Fred. Nice write up and excellent pics. Sorry I missed this one (I seem to be saying that a lot recently...)

Re: Assault on the Minsk Highway.

Sorry I wasn't able to make this one - a great looking game (and good to see the new trench works in action so soon).

Re: Force on Force Afghanistan

We've (club members) been talking about resurrecting our FoF Afghan games, so nice to see some inspiration. Completely agree about the Osprey FoF book being a mess - it was one of the things that eventually turned me off them. Apparently there is talk of an Ambush Alley 2.0, but not clear if/when th...

Re: Unofficial Battlegroup Modern 6mm playtest

I'd quite like to do a defense in depth scenario with waves of Soviets coming on table against a NATO force in depth, where the NATO commander has to decide when to pull back to new positions. Hi Andy, Yes, that would be an interesting game/scenario to try out. Something we've discussed doing when ...

Re: Unofficial Battlegroup Modern 6mm playtest

Thanks for writing this up Andy. Nice to see another 6mm game of these mods. From reading this - in our two games so far, if NATO had FASCAM or DPICM I would have been in trouble too given my tendency to bunch up my armour. Perhaps we need second echelons to follow on when the first wave gets stonke...

Re: Battlegroup Cold War - play test - updated with game two

As promised, we had another crack at this on Thursday night. The weather prevented getting to Hitchin to use the bigger table so we made do with another run on the 7x4. The table was set up slightly differently, and we introduced some rocky elevated areas to force a bit of channeling. But the object...

Re: Waterloo 6mm

That is wonderful. I think 6mm is the only way I could ever do Naps, but the painting might drive me mad.

Re: Battlegroup Cold War - play test

Thanks Richard - the smoke markers aren't an original idea but I've scaled them down for 6mm. They're made from wire, clump foliage and watery pva. Make a loop at one end of the wire, small dab of hot glue (glue gun), put loop in glue and bend wire up perpendicular to loop. Superglue small quantitie...

Re: Battlegroup Cold War - play test

Hijack away Andy. Read your aar on the blog. Interesting game and good to see Richard’s hard work is inspiring others to look at the period.

As said am hoping to have another game on Thursday this week so will see how that goes.
