These 3D printed buildings are all well and good, but I find they do not match my collection of 20mm resin ones. The resin ones are slightly scaled down, the 3D ones not.

As I said, someone else has made the model, I am just combining it to the canal. I find these 3D models are oversized and look out of place on RF 20mm battlefields.

The perils of making something to scale rather than to be a gaming piece.Don McHugh wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 8:35 amWill,Fire at Will wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:11 am But is it Son bridge? The one shown on a 3D printed kickstarter shows this

And the "but you can resize it and print it at the correct size for your games" doesn't work either as just shrinking things can look odd too.

Re: Arnhem Big Game 2018 Update 07/03
I worry that as pretty well anyone can produce anything very easily and quickly, we will end up with a lot of not very good oversized models. If you have to make prototypes and make moulds, that cost time and money, you tend to be a bit more careful about what you produce.
I was at SHQ yesterday and saw some new masters in the making, the time and effort put in to them is obvious to see. In my opinion this only comes from companies who invest time and money into their business.

Indeed, and also understand the real end use for the product.
It's like wargames figures themselves. What a sculptor accentuates over what they don't. What they make at true scale, and what is made bigger or smaller than true scale.

Looking good Don...
Greatness is not in where we stand,
but in what direction we are moving,
we must sail sometimes in the wind,
and sometimes against it,
but sail we must, and not drift nor lie at anchor.

Thanks Don, that's what I thought, just paying more attention as I'm working on Market Garden scenery for a big Battlegroup game in May.Don McHugh wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 8:35 amWill,Fire at Will wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:11 am But is it Son bridge? I too find the laser cut/3D printed buildings just too perfect for me to represent a building. Everything is so precise it just doesn’t ring true compared to all the other scenic items we have.Don McHugh wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 8:35 amWill,Fire at Will wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:11 am But is it Son bridge? Colin having changed the units that I'm providing here is the first of my 10 SS KG for The Island on 20th September.
A mix of very old Dave Allsop, Elheim and Platoon 20 Germans with an EWM (Skytrex) 250.

The Stummel, converted from a Cromwell Uhu. The gun is from the Skytrex 250 above.it was cheaper to buy the 250/8 than a 250/1 plus the SHQ conversion kit

Yes indeed John, so hard to get when they were "in production" as well, that man buried more grannies than anyone that ever existed.

Indeed acquiring Cromwell Models has at times been challenging....Alanmccoubrey wrote: ↑Fri Mar 16, 2018 9:56 am Yes indeed John, so hard to get when they were "in production" as well, that man buried more grannies than anyone that ever existed.
