scenario software
HI
I'm looking for a software that I can use to make up scenario's for games and AAR, something that I can ad hills roads trees rivers etc and military symbols I believe there were two such packages. I think I asked this in the old forum, but gone now and I have lost the links, I appreciate any feedback from users of these sotware packages.

Re: scenario software
You can almost certainly do most if not all of what you need in powerpoint. Might have to design your own symbols tho'
Re: scenario software
In the Lardies 2014 Chreistmas Special there's an article on using Powerpoint. Apparently that's what they use for the purpose.
Then there's Campaign Cartographer https://www.profantasy.com/products/cc3.asp and a bunch of similar products.

Re: scenario software
I've used something called mappingboard - http://www.10mm-wargaming.com/2016/05/mappingboard.html
It was a bit fiddly to get the hang of but I was able to produce some good results with it.

Re: scenario software
I'm also a Powerpoint user for my battletop maps.
I have all my terrain features - mostly houses and tree bases - photographed with a digital camera (a basic one will do) re-scaled for the map (normally a 3 cm equals to 30 cm on the board).
Made a full file with all those elements, plus roads marshes and so on.... just a question of a couple of pre-made maps with the squares and dropping the elements on.....

Re: scenario software
I'm using an ancient version of Pagemaker for mine. The program is now over 10yrs old but serves as a basic vector graphics programme, with the advantage that I know how to use it
