A quite stunning military museum in the heart of Beijing. Don't be put off by the verbose name, the collection includes a lot of equipment from WWII and much that you won't find elsewhere, especially Japanese. Given the Chinese in the 1930s bought arms on the international market and then during WWII had weapons supplied by the western allies, there is a surprising mix of equipment, all very well displayed. Great set of pictures! Shame there's nothing Bofors in sight. Did the museum not contain any dioramas?

For some reason that I couldn't work out, several floors of galleries were closed the day I visited. These were the ones dealing with specific wars and I suspect these contain dioramas and other artefacts. I will be back in Beijing next year, so I will visit again in the hope of seeing more.

Thanks for taking the time to post the pics, I do love a museum full of obscure kit so this one is on the "bucket list". How realistic my bucket list is remains to be seen tho'
