British etc 1944 greatcoat
I am thinking about doing some Brit’s in greatcoats for bulge games. I can only find the older range of Lancashire games, is there anybody else who makes them?

Probably not much use but there is one, lonely figure in the Revell 8th Army Scottish Infantry set.

Converted naval ratings?

There may be some suitable Korean War figures from the old Reiver Castings but I can’t find them.

Thought they had which is a pity as their accessories are good.
They took over the Reiver castings ranges but the Korean War ones aren’t even on their website. I have a couple of figures which don’t have greatcoats so I suspect the rest of the range don’t either.

If you have a resin printer, I'd recommend these:

...though I'm unsure if the respirator on the chest is something they'd still have in 1944.

Re: British etc 1944 greatcoat
Your caution is well placed, thr chest mounted respirator was placed by a less bulky unit carried on the belt fairly quickly.7dot62mm wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 8:10 am If you have a resin printer, I'd recommend these:

As with any army in wartime, particularly when spread around the world any replacement program will take time.
I also think the greatcoat are a bit too 'dynamic' for something that is made fabric.
Moving away from the negative comments these would be good for Norway or 'what-if' Phoney War scenario.
Either way a nice find

Re: British etc 1944 greatcoat
Would it be possible to edit the file to remove the gas mask holder or even cut them off after printing? Some other weapons would also be required e.g. a Sten but that should be easy enough. If you were really picky, the rifle should be a Mk4 with the shorter bayonet.
If you wanted a really exotic unit, I recall seeing photographs in the Czech Army museum in Prague of Czech soldiers on the Eastern Front in 1942(?) with British helmets and greatcoats and Russian weapons.

Surprised AB haven’t done them considering they have the Yanks and Germans in greatcoats
And to be honest with sales basically having ground to a halt there’s not a lot of wriggle room for new figures other than what is already committed to

I've certainly considered doing them, but I get the impression that by 1944 they were mostly worn at night rather than in combat , when jerkins and Windproofs were much more common. They were stowed in the Large Pack on the unit transport, to which they seem to have had access when dug in at dusk.

There are these, but look a bit 'chunky', unless the pics are 3D renders, https://badger3d.co.uk/products/wwii-br ... of-command. I haven't had any figures off Badger but the vehicles I have ordered have been excellent.
Re: British etc 1944 greatcoat
Yes, you can modify the figure either in the file (if you have the proper software and skills, which I certainly don't), or after printing with an Exacto knife, like you would with a resin figure.Trockledockle wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 6:29 pm Would it be possible to edit the file to remove the gas mask holder or even cut them off after printing?
One could print some of the many weapons available in .STL format and then convert.
