Nice, where’s your van from? And what is the name/make of the postal van you are imitating?

My van is an Oxford diecast 1/76th - I've used a couple of their cars over the years - no idea on the name and make of the van, I've had it a few years especially to use as clutter for Neustadt. Basically its a 1930's model (definitely British though)Gunner Dunbar wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 1:08 pm Nice, where’s your van from? And what is the name/make of the postal van you are imitating?
here's an earlier diecast Oxford...
Attack make a kit of the Phanomen Granit 25H - whichg to be honest is about the same price... oooh I'm tempted!

Rob, a few years ago, the first year thatThronbury Show was a mixed modellers/wargamers when ever that was, I found this resin PG 25 model. Naturally I can't rememebr whomade it, the ambulance in the background is one I scratched in 1/76 using an article in Model World I believe.

isn't that always the way? - Nice cast tho!Alanmccoubrey wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 5:47 pm I found this resin PG 25 model. Naturally I can't rememebr whomade it,
Fordson - Oxford diecast 1/76th - I needed Aaron's help to get that far tho... in production from 1938 to the early 1950's (its a British van)
Progress so far - it was looking great until there was an agrax earthshade spillage... that shit is sticky! I'm aware the eagle is way too large, but i'm growing quite fond of it... I may even have to create a postman

It looks great, and yes, you need an armed postman

Rob, I found the instruction sheet for that old 25 but it doesn't have a company name on it but it is definitely Czech.

Re: panzerfaust200 - Neustadt WIP (reborn)
adding the tiles to three separate buildings was perhaps a mistake - lol
At least working on all three at once allows things to dry while moving onto another item... all roofs half done!
Windows have also been blacked out and are awaiting the frames to be painted...
trying to enhance the feel of separate planking by using different colours and intensities of washes...

Re: panzerfaust200 - Neustadt WIP (reborn)
Bit more progress today - the first colour for the tiles is down on all the roofs and the frankenbarn is making good progress.
I used Vallejo washs to tint individual planks to strengthen the feel of individual weathered planks (umbar and sepia are your friends)

Re: panzerfaust200 - Neustadt WIP (reborn)
More road junctions from EWM - I bought these at Partizan this year, so this was a pretty quick turnaround for me...
Just need more bends.... hmmm...
in other news... I bought myself an actual kit of a Vollmer house, mostly to build as the farmhouse - I "tweaked" the model to look sympathetic in style to the barn by removing the lower portion of the timber frames, and not using the built up brick cellar - which means that the door height needs adjusting a smidge...

Re: panzerfaust200 - Neustadt WIP (reborn)
So there has been a lot of progress over the last two or three weeks...
Roof tiles were possibly the most dull, but listening to youtube or podcasts helps the time pass quickly while doing something repetitive
So all that remains for this trio is that the walls get weathered and then they get based...

Re: panzerfaust200 - Neustadt WIP (reborn)
Meanwhile, the farmhouse has been built and I'm trying to plot out a satisfactory plan of where
everything goes within the 7" x 9" base for a small farm complex in Rapid Fire!

a pair of Oxford Diecast 1/76th scale railway model cars, pressed into service for the inhabitants of Neustadt...
Re: panzerfaust200 - Neustadt WIP (reborn)
An absolute joy to read through as always. This is genuine museum quality work.
I do love Poßtmann Padt's van...
I can't help but think that this looks familiar, though...

Then I realised, it needs Das Kinderkatcherwagen parked in front of it!

Cheers Iain - glad you’re enjoying it
Poßtman Padt… that’s now officially a thing - I’ve almost finished the conversion work
Now what would that look like?
Re: panzerfaust200 - Neustadt WIP (reborn)
Just slap some dunkelgelb and a couple of Balkenkreuz on it, and give the man himself an armband and you're good to go...
I'm sure it's got an Sdkfz number...
